The Green Ribbon: A Kidney Conversation

Spreading Warmth to Local Kidney Clinics

I have been competing in the Miss America Opportunity for the past 4 years. and for my Community Service Initiative, or CSI, I decided to title it, The Green Ribbon: A Kidney Conversation.

My CSI is based off of my dad's battle with Chronic Kidney Disease, and stage 4 kidney failure. He was diagnosed at the age of 25, so I know exactly what it can feel like to watch a loved one suffer.

In November of 2024 my dad was severely ill and had to start dialysis treatment immediately upon arriving at the hospital. Once he came home, I remember how he had to go in-center at a local clinic for 6 hours a day, every other day. The clinic was cold, and sometimes the mood was low. He has now graduated to at-home dialysis treatment. But, the thought of the other patients didn’t leave my mind. So I decided to take initiative and spread some warmth.

Help support my mission in comforting patients in local kidney clinics around Massachusetts. By raising funds to create high-quality blankets, we ensure that for every $30 raised, a blanket will be made to not only spread warmth, but put a smile on a patient’s face.
