90/75 bird species found

I’m birding for a better world! Can you cheer me on?

I'm excited to be a part of Feminist Bird Club's Birdathon for Mutual Aid Disaster Relief! Our birding community is coming together to celebrate the inclusive nature of bird joy while fundraising for Mutual Aid Disaster Relief; a grassroots disaster relief network based on the principles of solidarity, mutual aid, and autonomous direct action.

My husband, Drew, and I will spend the weekend looking for 75 individual bird species and (hopefully) getting some good photos to share with you! We will be looking for lots of fun migrant and wintering species in the greater Houston/Galveston area.

Please help us reach our goal by leaving a flat donation or making a pledge to support our birding efforts! Your support will help provide critical funds for those who are affected by climate disasters all over the world.

Thank you for considering and stay tuned for birding updates!

BIG day 2 update! We stopped at three different spots today and picked up 54 more species. The biggest highlight was getting our lifer vermilion flycatcher (so handsome and red and polite). We also got to see one of my favorite wintering birds, the yellow-bellied sapsucker, for the first time this migration season and watched an American kestrel go hunting. After a massive afternoon nap we’re feeling positive about reaching our species goal tomorrow 🫡
