Foreward
Foreward (see that's a play on 'fore' as in golf and 'foreward' from a book. This world is full of puns.)
This isn’t just a fundraiser for me — it’s part of a story I didn’t expect to be writing.
Not long ago, I came close to buying a business in the golf industry. It didn’t work out, but it pointed me toward something I didn’t even realize I was looking for. I started spending more time on the course — partly because I had more time, partly to clear my head, and partly because… why not?
Somewhere along the way, I fell for the game. Not because I was good at it (I’m not), but because it gave me structure, challenge, community, and a way to keep moving forward. It became a quiet teacher — in patience, humility, and the occasional miracle shot.
Now, I’m playing to support First Tee — an organization that gives kids access to the same game, along with the life lessons that come with it. Every hole I play helps fund opportunities for young people to grow through golf — not just as players, but as people.
This event is about raising money, yes — but for me, it’s also about momentum. About honoring where I’ve been and pointing toward what’s next. There may be more to come (you’ll know it when you see it)… but for now, I’m just out here playing, sweating, smiling, and hopefully doing some good along the way.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for supporting. Let’s make it count.
