Heart Hero - Aysa Urich
Becoming a Heart Hero with the Peyton Walker Foundation is deeply personal to me. My passion lies in youth sports and making sure the places where our children play, practice, and compete are as safe as possible. That’s why my focus is on raising funds to provide AEDs to local parks and sporting venues throughout York County and beyond.
I’m a mom of two very active kids who play basketball, baseball, softball, and gymnastics—and like so many families, our lives revolve around games, practices, and time at the fields. I could never imagine experiencing the unthinkable: losing my child to a heart condition when there could have been a lifesaving device nearby. An AED can be the difference between life and death, and every child, parent, coach, and spectator deserves the reassurance that one is close at hand.
Coaching has only strengthened that conviction. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of my life. I coach alongside my husband, and the kids we’ve worked with—from t-ball all the way to 10U—have truly become like family. Watching them grow into amazing athletes and even better people is something I treasure. In youth sports, the connections built on the field stretch far beyond it; a team becomes a community, and a community becomes family.
As a coach, I take my role seriously. I believe it’s our responsibility to create an environment where families can focus on cheering, learning, and having fun—without worrying whether the right equipment is available in an emergency. Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, at any age, at any moment. The best way to prevent the worst outcome is to ensure AEDs are present and accessible in the places we gather most.
Supporting the Peyton Walker Foundation allows me to take action and advocate for something that truly saves lives. I’m proud to be a Heart Hero—and even prouder to be part of a movement that protects the children, families, and communities that mean so much to all of us.
