Why This Matters
BRAVE is a Black-led youth development and social justice organization committed to equipping Black and Brown youth and their families with the tools to navigate systems that have historically created barriers for people of color.
We build positive cultural identity.

One of our most powerful tools is the Black History of Excellence (BHE) Tour.
What Is the BHE Tour?
The BHE Tour is an immersive cultural experience that teaches youth and families how to understand history, honor heritage, and use that knowledge to thrive in the present.
Because history isn’t just about the past. It’s a roadmap for survival, confidence, and success.
A Proven Experience
We have successfully hosted three BHE Tours since 2019 — all in Washington, D.C.

Participants visited HBCUs, civil rights landmarks, and cultural institutions.
One participant shared: “I felt empowered learning about the cultural and historical contributions of my people.”
Another parent said: “My daughter will remember this experience for the rest of her life.”

The Final Trailblazers Tour
After 8 years of excellence, 2026 will be the final Black History of Excellence Tour under BRAVE’s Trailblazers program.
This August (9–16, 2026), we travel to:
Atlanta + Alabama
Youth and families will experience: HBCU tours, The MLK Center, Civil Rights landmarks, Black-owned podcast and music studios, A guided Black music history experience, and Black-owned restaurants and businesses.
This is lived Black history. This is legacy.
Why We’re Fundraising
