It's been another amazing run for the CEC Birdathon. I finished with an incredible day of birding in Mexico's Sierra Madre Occidental and a nearby volcanic crater lake, netting 118 species for the day and adding 26 species to my total to bring me over 300. My 306 is two species more than last year. It looks like my team of far-flung Earlham College birders, "Birders Beyond Borders," edged our last year's total by 1 species, with 665 species found in 5 different countries.
I'll post some of my favorite photos in a more complete update later.
