DSANV Year-End Campaign

The Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia (DSANV) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure all individuals with Down syndrome in the Northern Virginia area, and their families, receive the support necessary to participate in, contribute to and achieve fulfillment of life in their communities. Our vision is that one day every person with Down syndrome is seen as a valued and contributing member of their community. We are working tirelessly to ensure that each day brings us one step closer to making our vision a reality, by:

*Helping families celebrate the birth of their child with Down syndrome through a new parent group, with the option of being provided a mentor family for support

*Providing programs and events in the areas of health and wellness, education, skills development, career development for individuals with Down syndrome, for all ages

*Providing families with educational, financial, medical, and legal resources

*Providing social events for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, so they can establish and maintain meaningful community connections

*Showcasing the capabilities and contributions of individuals with Down syndrome to the community through our career development program and in our participation and support of community service projects

*Partnering with local, national, and international organizations that provide services to individuals with Down syndrome to better serve our members and to grow our outreach
