This year marks a powerful milestone—our 10th anniversary of hosting Tampa’s Buddy Walk, and we’re setting our biggest goal yet: $100,000 to fuel life-changing impact in our community.

Last year, because of this incredible community, we didn’t just meet our goal—we surpassed our $80,000 fundraising goal and raised over $100,000, a first in our organization’s history. That moment proved what’s possible when we come together with purpose—and now, we’re ready to do it again.

Since its inception in 1995, the Buddy Walk® has become the nation’s leading advocacy event for Down syndrome—uniting families, raising awareness, and inspiring communities across the country. Here in Tampa, it’s more than just a walk—it’s a movement rooted in love, inclusion, and purpose.

For the past 10 years, our Buddy Walk has brought together individuals with Down syndrome and other special needs, their families, and a community that believes in their worth, abilities, and future. But we can’t stop here—we’re just getting started.

Every dollar raised directly supports the mission of FRIENDS Down Syndrome Special Needs West FL—providing critical resources, meaningful programs, and unwavering support to individuals and families. From early diagnosis through adulthood, we are there—empowering lives, advocating for inclusion, and creating opportunities where everyone belongs.

$100,000 isn’t just a number—it’s therapy sessions, educational programs, community events, family support, and brighter futures. It’s impact. It’s hope. It’s change.
