Our Mission: Walking for Precious đź’—
Every year, we come together as Precious Entourage to walk with purpose, love, and unwavering support—for Precious Scott-Fields.
This walk is more than just steps on a path. It’s a commitment to raising awareness for Down syndrome, celebrating the lives of individuals like Precious, and standing beside families who continue to advocate for inclusion, care, and opportunity.
Precious is the heart of our mission. She inspires us with her strength, her joy, and the way she brings people together. Because of her, this cause is deeply personal. We don’t just walk for awareness—we walk for her life, her future, and for every individual whose story deserves to be seen, valued, and included.
This year, as Precious celebrated her 25th birthday, we celebrated more than a milestone—we celebrated a life that continues to inspire hope, resilience, and purpose. Her journey is a powerful reminder of what is possible when individuals with Down syndrome are surrounded by love, opportunity, quality care, and a community that believes in them.
At the same time, her story reminds us that our work is far from over.
There are still barriers to break, conversations to continue, opportunities to create, and lives to uplift. Every step we take helps build a more inclusive future where individuals with Down syndrome can thrive and reach their fullest potential.
So we walk.
We walk to celebrate every milestone.
We walk to raise awareness and inspire acceptance.
We walk to support families and strengthen our community.
And most importantly, we walk for Precious—and for every individual with Down syndrome whose story deserves to be celebrated.
đź’— This is our mission. This is our why.

At the Down Syndrome Association of Houston (DSAH), our mission is to provide health, education and advocacy resources to individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and their communities. We envision a world in which all people with Down syndrome have the opportunity to enhance their quality of life, realize their life aspirations, and become accepted as a wonderfully normal part of a very diverse community.
DSAH currently serves over 3,500 families and we are proud to say our membership continues to grow. Of course, we couldn’t celebrate the growth and inclusion without YOU! We hope you can support our Houston Buddy Walk so we can continue to make strides for people with DS!
