Kindness Connection 2025

Practicing kindness (for ourselves and others) to increase resilience, connection and hope across our communities!

$929Raised of $2,500

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." -Aesop

Kindness Connection is our annual 'friend-raiser' that promotes kindness as a healthy coping skill throughout the month of September. Our goal is to reach out to those around us with simple acts of kindness that say 'You Matter!' because "You never know when a moment and a few sincere words can have an impact on a life". - Zig Ziglar

Did you know? Kindness and Connection are two protective factors against hopelessness, emotional distress and suicide. In fact, the deliberate cultivation of positive social connections bolsters mental resilience and promotes help-seeking behavior. Practicing kindness for yourself and others is an effective stress management technique that can also increase our sense of hope while managing the demands of daily life.

An Act of Kindness can:
- Reduce stress
- Increase feelings of happiness
- Lower blood pressure
- Release feel-good chemicals (serotonin & oxytocin)
- Inspire more kindness!

Virtual Event - September 1st - 30th

YOU are Invited to Participate!

Parents, teachers, friends, family, youth groups, churches and community organizations, please join us as we practice kindness and connection across our community throughout the month of September.

Step 1 - Sign Up
Participating on a team helps build community and a sense of belonging so we encourage you to either create your own team (with family, friends, coworkers, your church, or social group) or join a team that already exists. But if you'd rather go solo, you can do that too. The choice is yours.

Step 2 - Set Your Kindness Goals
How many Acts of Kindness would you like to complete, for yourself and for others, during the month of September? Would you like to do a little fundraising for us as one of your Acts of Kindness?

The path you take to make Kindness and Connection a daily part of your life is just as important as the process of setting a goal and working to achieve it. And if you choose to fundraise for us, your $10 registration fee is applied towards your fundraising goal.

Step 3 - Attend our Kick-off Event
If you're in town Labor Day weekend, join us Saturday, August 30 from 11am-2pm at the Food Court Fireplace inside the Laurel Park Place mall in Livonia. Come pick-up your Kindness Kit and be inspired to make a difference in your community.

Step 4 - Record your Acts of Kindness
Use one of our activity sheets or a journal to keep track of your Acts of Kindness for yourself and others throughout the month of September.

Step 5 - Share Your Experience With Us
On a regular basis (daily, weekly or every few days), we encourage you to inspire the rest of us in the Kindness Connection community by sharing a photo or fun fact about your kindness adventures on your fundraising page (under Activity) and on social media: #KindnessConnection2025

Step 6 - Have Fun!
We truly hope this event allows you to find the joy in connecting with others through kindness in the community. All four of these things - kindness, connection, finding joy and having fun - play an important role in our mental and emotional well-being.

Our Kindness Connection event begins September 1st and ends September 30, however, you can start fundraising anytime. We've also created a Kindness Journal, a Kindness Jar, a couple of craft ideas and hope to organize a few community collection drives to help you get started.

Now is the time to take the first step.
