LT100 Run DreamChaser- Rodrigo Jimenez
2021 was the inaugural year for a new Dream Chaser to show us what was possible in the LT100 Run. As a 9 time finisher of the LT100 Run and 8 time Lead Challenge competitor, local Leadville stone mason, Rodrigo Jimenez, was just the guy to do it.
Rodrigo decided he wanted to try this ‘back of the pack’ challenge to help the Legacy Foundation. And to add a little more pressure, he didn’t just start last - he decided to start his race at sunup - 2½ hours after all the other runners start the race.
A serious bike accident in June 2022 put his Dream Chaser plans in jeopardy, but in true Rodrigo style, he didn’t let a collapsed lung or a few broken ribs stop him. And he credits much of his racing success to his wife Gloria and sons Eddy, Fabian and Alexander, who not only support him through all his training, but who are out there as his crew on race day.
Rodrigo’s Dream Chaser Stats Through The Years:
2021: 660 racers passed (finished 6th overall chip time) = $87,802 raised
2022: 657 racers passed = $59,040 raised
2023: 740 racers passed = $133,418 raised
2024: 700 racers passed = $82,435 raised

Rodrigo dug deep and conquered the Leadville Trail 100! Despite an old injury flaring up at the very first aid station, he pushed through 100 miles to finish with a chip time of 24:30:47, placing 70th overall and passing 603 runners!!
But the biggest win? He raised nearly $82,000 for scholarships through the DreamChaser program. Every mile, every step, every ounce of grit will open doors of opportunity for the seniors of Lake County High School.
What a finish. What a legacy. We are SO PROUD!!!
