Nature Walk for Autistic Adults - Organized by ASO and Portland Parks and Rec

Join us for a rejuvenating nature walk specifically designed for Autistic adults ages 18 and older! We will explore the scenic Leif Erickson Drive Trailhead in Forest Park, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Please note that the Leif Erikson Drive trailhead is not accessible via public transit, so we have arranged for Portland Parks and Rec to Provide a shuttle bus for all participants. We will meet at the ASO office, 9320 SW Barbur Blvd parking lot. Please arrive no later than 12:10. The shuttle will leave promptly at 12:30 pm.

Shuttle/Transportation Provided:

We will gather at the ASO office and take a shuttle provided by PP&R to the park. We will leave at 12:20 pm. The ASO office is located at 9320 SW Barbur Blvd.

Parking:

Extremely limited parking. The parking area consists of a one-way, hard-packed gravel lot that accommodates parallel and slot parking.

Dogs:

Due to the size of the group, NO dogs please. Service dogs who are task trained are welcome.

What should I wear/bring?

  • Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes suitable for walking on varied terrains. The trails are wide but unpaved.

  • Bring water, snacks, and necessary medications.

  • Bring headphones or fidgets if needed.
