In honor of Oil City native Captain Erick Foster, you are invited to participate in the Oil Region Family Ride on Saturday, August 12th.

Erick Foster was born and is now buried in Oil City, PA, and was a leader, a warrior, and the consummate teammate. Team Foster was founded in his name and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to honor Erick's legacy. Team Foster's mission: "No Hero Left Behind." Funds raised for Team Foster go to obtain, train, and provide service dogs to injured and disabled Veterans.

The Oil Region Family Ride participants challenge themselves to honor CPT Foster's legacy by pushing himself and inspiring those around him to do the same, just as Erick did. Riders can ride *up to* 100 miles in a 25-mile loop, starting and finishing in Oil City, PA. After the ride, all participants are invited to join us for a celebration at Scierka's Tavern. Every registered participant will receive a $10 voucher for food and drinks.

The night before the ride, on Friday, August 11, participants are also invited to visit Captain Erick Foster's burial site, where we will share stories and remember the hero that Erick was. Afterward, a complimentary dinner will be hosted at the Oil City VFW.

Team Foster was founded in honor of Captain Erick Foster. Born in Oil City, PA, Erick later attended Duquesne University and was a member of the Panther ROTC Battalion. Erick, a natural leader, and a warrior pushed those around him to do more and care for their teammates. After commissioning in 2000, Erick became an accomplished soldier, earning his Ranger tab and Airborne wings. Erick was leading his soldiers as a troop commander with the 82nd Airborne Division in Iraq when he was killed in action.

Team Foster seeks to honor Erick's legacy by pushing ourselves and taking care of our teammates - the Veterans who have sacrificed so much on our behalf. Post-traumatic stress (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is the signature wounds of post-9/11 warfare. Hundreds of thousands of Veterans have returned home afflicted with these invisible wounds. As a result, 20+ Veterans and military members lose their lives to suicide every day.
