The Vaqueros Way 2023 Juggle-a-Thon Campaign

In launching our 2023 Vaqueros Way Juggle-A-Thon Campaign this year, we would like to reflect on the impact these gifts have inside our Poway Youth Soccer League (PYSL) organization. The following quote exemplifies the significance of this event and was made by a family member who benefited from last year's fundraiser:

PYSL has created "The Vaqueros Way" Juggle-a-Thon campaign to earmark funds that will alleviate the financial commitment it takes to play organizational soccer in San Diego and across the country. We can not ignore that there is an unfortunate reality where many children lose out on playing opportunities due to the United States' pay-to-play soccer model. This systemic structure favors affluent families and as a non-profit youth organization, we deem it a priority to find solutions for those families who are not as well off.

Not only does this campaign support our financial assistance program, but it also contributes to our operation and capital improvement budgets. We know other organizations like to sell cookies, candy, raffle tickets, and other non-athletic items, but our kids are raising money in a way that promotes a healthy lifestyle while developing foundation skills in the sport they love.

Juggling is an imperative skill for one's soccer development; it is a FUNdamental stage of ball mastery and athletic growth. In short, juggling builds an affinity and comfort with the ball while improving mental focus, motor coordination, balance, and leg strength. Although important to our financial assistance program and budgets, we also use this campaign to foster a competitive cauldron that increases our player's intrinsic motivation to become better at the sport they play.

The more successful we are in this campaign, the more opportunity we can provide children to enjoy the world's most popular sport. Additionally, we would be remiss if we did not state that PYSL is not just about the sport of soccer. Our organization makes it a priority to teach invaluable life lessons that will foster personal growth. We know these traits will be instilled throughout our children's lives while creating indelible memories and friendships along the way!
