In 2025, over 200 children throughout Oregon and SW Washington will hear the life-changing words “you have cancer.” Kids and families shouldn’t have to face pediatric cancer alone. That’s why Candlelighters For Children With Cancer is here. Candlelighters provides financial support, in-hospital meals, support groups, scholarships and more, ensuring that families facing childhood cancer get the care they need throughout the difficult journey of childhood cancer. From a Candlelighters Family
"I am writing mostly to thank each of you for choosing to ride for Candlelighters and to raise money for this life saving organization. When we first came in contact with Candlelighters 6 years ago we were hurt and broken. Our world had been shattered by the diagnosis of brain cancer in our 5 year old child. Candlelighters gave us what we needed in that time of despair - a community of other families who have walked this path and who know what we are going through. They do this in such an artful way as well by creating fun events to gather families together where the kids are playing and having a good time and the parents can let down their guard and connect. Through this community now each of us (kids included) have a solid support group to walk with us on this journey and make it just a bit more tolerable."
