Meet Katia
Meet Katia, one of our Ride for a Child 2026 Honored Children! Katia is a ten year old who loves gaming and cats. One of her favorite TV shows would have to be Netflix’s Wednesday, and she is also a big fan of the movie K-Pop Demon Hunters! She likes singing to the songs and all the cool outfits the characters wear. Her favorite song right now is “Golden” by the group Huntrix from the film.
Katia also likes to draw and color, if she could bring one thing to a deserted island it would be paper and markers! Her favorite colors are purple, pink, silver, and anything glittery. If she could only eat one meal for the rest of her life, it would be chicken nuggets and fries.
Katia was diagnosed with leukemia, a type of blood cancer. She has one older brother, Ian, who is 13 years old. Her favorite Candlelighters experience so far has been this year’s Winter Wonderland Holiday Party because she liked the Harry Potter theme!

About Candlelighters
From diagnosis through treatment and beyond, Candlelighters provide programs that meet the needs of the whole family facing childhood cancer. Your support provides:
$25: Fills the gas tank so families can get their child to the hospital for essential cancer treatment.
$50: Fills a grocery bag of a family who may have had to leave a job to care for their child
$100: Helps a family of four get essential food for several days or gas for several trips to the hospital for required treatments.
$250: Fills the hospital pantry for one week, while families are in the hospital with their child who is receiving cancer treatment.
