2023 Run at Riverview
The Impactful Opportunities With Athletes (IOWA) Foundation is excited to bring a Fun Run and 5k to Riverview Park in Des Moines. Our organizations goal through this event is to increase trail use among the youth and community in Des Moines as well as providing recreational opportunities in our parks. We will offer the race for free to participants who register for the 6-week Running Program held at Riverview Park. We also invite the community of walkers, joggers and runners to participate. Interested participants can either pay a race entry or commit to a fundraising goal which would allow them a free race entry. To add a little friendly competition you can join teams represented by your future, current or former high schools and colleges. Teams can also be created for companies and organizations.
How to Fundraise
- Click "Register" at the top of the page.
- Three options will appear. If you plan to fundraise click "Fundraise Your Registration".
- Set your fundraising goal ($100 minimum) and complete the other registration questions.
- Next you can "Join A Team" affiliated with your high school, college or company. If you do not see your school/company and you are the first person to register you can also "Create A Team".
- Reach out to friends and family to ask if they’ll support your efforts by donating to you!
- Keep an eye on the leaderboards to see how your competitors and other teams are doing!
Fundraising Prizes:
We will be giving away five (5) FREE entries, one per category below, into the IMT Des Moines Marathon on Sunday, October 15, 2023 for the race of your choice. The random drawing for the first two categories and announcement of the final three will take place on Saturday, August 5th at the conclusion of the races.
Value: $45-$124/entry

The Impactful Opportunities With Athletes (IOWA) Foundation
partners with athletes to amplify their platform and give back to communities through youth sports, education and raising awareness for causes in the community. We aim to show the long-term benefits of youth sports and education on the development of youth and adolescents. We believe every child should have access and equity in their sport and education.
The IOWA Foundation exists to eliminate barriers to entry in the youth sports and education space by providing equipment, scholarships, hosting events and partnering with other nonprofits to use sports and education as a youth development tool across Iowa.
