2025 Direct Initiatives - Every Gift Makes a Difference!

Safety & Security

$250,000

Fundraising Overview

This year, our fundraising goal is $350,000, which will help support a number of important projects and initiatives aimed at improving the overall experience at St. Christopher School. While this is a significant goal, the total cost of all the projects we hope to complete well exceeds this amount.

To maximize the impact of the funds we raise, we have organized our needs into key project “buckets.” These include improvements to campus safety and security, faculty and staff support and appreciation, classroom furniture upgrades, and continuing to build our facility reserves. Our goal is to complete as many of these projects as possible using funds raised through this campaign. For some initiatives, we plan to supplement fundraising dollars with additional school funds to bring them to completion. Other projects may need to be revisited in future years as funding becomes available.

Every dollar raised makes a difference and brings us closer to creating the best environment for our students, staff, and families. Thank you for partnering with us in building a stronger future for St. Christopher School.

Safety & Security:

While the foundations of our safety and security systems, measures, protocols, etc. at St. Christopher School are solid, we continue to work to ensure that our campus meets the safety needs of our students in the 21st century. During this year’s Traveler Challenge campaign, you can show your commitment to the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and volunteers by contributing to our Safety & Security bucket of $250,000.

Proposed projects and initiatives within this bucket include replacing the front school entry doors, installing mesh fencing to limit visibility into our campus, adding additional lighting in the main parking lot, extending the height of the fencing along the back perimeter, replacing our current intercom and clock system, and increasing the number of security cameras throughout the property, all of which will allow us to create a safer environment for our students, staff, and families. With every act of generosity, you help us build a more secure and brighter future for St. Christopher School.

Faculty & Staff Appreciation:

We know you agree when we state that we are blessed to have the best faculty and staff in the Diocese of San José! Supporting them and showing them appreciation is not only a responsibility of the school administration, but rather the entire community. During this year’s Traveler Challenge campaign, you can support our dedicated faculty and staff at St. Christopher School by contributing to our Faculty and Staff Appreciation bucket of $72,500

Proposed projects and initiatives within this bucket include providing additional classroom supply grants for each teacher, funding monthly Fiesta Fridays, supporting holiday festivities, and offering monthly snacks and treats as tokens of appreciation throughout the year, all of which allow us to pamper and create the best work environment possible for our employees. Each act of generosity brings us closer to a stronger, more vibrant future for St. Christopher School.

It’s important to note that because these projects and initiatives are covered through the Traveler Challenge, the PTG’s Faculty and Staff Appreciation Committee and the school’s class leads will not be soliciting donations for these efforts during the school year. Like any other monetary donations to the Traveler Challenge, all contributions to this bucket are considered tax-deductible donations, and appropriate tax letters will be provided.

Furniture Upgrades:

Our students spend seven hours per day at school and much of that time is spent in the classroom at a desk. During this year’s Traveler Challenge campaign, you can aid in the transformation of our learning environments and pave the way for lasting improvements at St. Christopher School by contributing to our Furniture Upgrade bucket of $97,500

Proposed projects and initiatives within this bucket include replacing the outdated diamond-shaped desks in our lower grade classrooms and adding additional tables to accommodate growing needs in others. These enhancements will create a more functional, flexible, and safe learning environment for our students and teachers.

Facilities Reserve:

St. Christopher School has existed for 70 years, and with that comes an incredible shared history, but also older buildings. We are also experiencing a period of growth as a school with increasing enrollment each year, and as one teacher recently put it, "St. Christopher School is bursting at the seams!" During this year’s Traveler Challenge campaign, you can help set St. Christopher School up for our next 70 years of excellence by contributing to our Facilities Reserve bucket. As this bucket is to continue to build a reserve, there is no set goal.

Future projects and initiatives within this bucket include ongoing maintenance and essential facility upgrades, both of which are critical to maintaining a safe, functional, and inspiring learning environment for our students and staff.

Working together, we’re shaping a safer and more vibrant future for our school community. Go Travelers!
