Rob Runs for Rare

I am so excited to take on the challenge of my first marathon in support of Uplifting Athletes. When we were awarded bibs to the Philly Marathon weekend, it was a no-brainer that I would participate. Getting to run 26.2 miles through the city that has shaped my life in so many ways feels like an honor.

Philadelphia is the city that has given me tremendous moments of joy (and a lot of heartbreak) through my love of all the Philly sports teams. It is the city where world-class medical care and research saved me from a devastating brain cancer diagnosis that could have taken everything. It is the city where I met my future wife for the first time. And it is the city that has now hosted nine Young Investigator Drafts, through which Uplifting Athletes has funded more than $1.4 million in research grants to 75 next-generation rare disease researchers.

I hope you will consider supporting me on this journey. Every dollar helps Uplifting Athletes continue to harness the power of sport to build a community that invests in the lives of people impacted by rare disease today, tomorrow, and in the future.
