Walk for Water 2024

Empowering Kenyan women to catch the rain

$80,067Raised of $80,000

The water crisis hurts women and girls.

Women and girls in rural Kenya spend hours each day walking for water. Their journeys are dangerous and exhausting, and the water they collect is muddy, salty, and disease-ridden. Each day, women and girls must sacrifice time that could be spent on education, income generation, and child-rearing.

Together with our partners in Kenya, we work towards obtaining rainwater catchment tanks. Having access to clean, safe water has a profound impact. Women have time to work, girls have time to attend school, and family health is improved. As women lift themselves out of poverty, they uplift their families and communities.

By participating in the Walk for Water, you will make a huge difference in the lives of women and girls in rural Kenya. Are you ready? Create or join a team or fundraise as an individual. Collect donations from your family, friends, and coworkers. Then gather in your neighborhood on May 11 to Walk for Water!

Today we walk for water so that someday they won’t have to.

Across the Puget Sound region and around the nation, we will walk in support of our partners in Kenya who walk every day to collect water for their families.

Gather for community walks on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM PDT. You can walk for water with your team, wherever you are! Together we can surpass our goal and bring clean, life-changing water to women and their families.
