Our Mission
Since its inception in 2016, the Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative (WBCI) raises funds that are then granted into Wyoming breast cancer programs. Wyoming ranks last in the nation for breast health screening for women greater than 50 years old due to remote medical care access, socio-economic needs, and cultural barriers. WBCI’s mission is to increase breast cancer awareness and prevention across Wyoming.
Early detection increases survivorship, decreases late-stage diagnosis, and decreases costs to Wyoming for their uninsured or underinsured. WBCI is committed to helping fill the gap to promote this life-saving cause.
Join us for Bras with a Cause
Details: Wednesday, October 23rd from 6-9pm at the Alice Hardie Stevens Center, 603 E. Ivinson Ave., Laramie, WY. Theme for this year’s Bra Entries is “Superhero Survivors".
Admission Cost: $35 includes 2 drink tickets with admission.
Bra Entry Cost: $35 includes 1 admission ticket. Deadline for bra entry is October 9th. Don't forget to include a picture.
Food and Drink: The Grazing Cowboy will put together charcuterie boards for individual tables, and Beer and Wine will be available.
Online Voting: All of the bra entries will be posted online to vote on in advance with $1 = 1 Vote. The Top 10 Bra Winners of that vote will be displayed more prominently at the event.
Best in Show Voting: At the event, attendants purchase “tickets” at registration to vote for any of the bras at the event ($1=1 ticket) for a “Best in Show” Bra Winner.
Silent and Live Auction Items: In addition to some amazing silent auction items, don't miss the opportunity to bid on some high valued live auction items at the event!
“Superhero Sponsorship" Businesses that sponsor this event with $1000 will receive recognition on the Bras with a Cause registration site, at the event and will receive 4 event tickets! Email president@wyomingbreastcancer.org for more information. Only 10 Sponsorships available.
Bra Submission Requirements
Eligibility Requirements for Bra Submissions:
• The Bra must be constructed to be worn on a traditional dress-form mannequin. If you would like to submit bra artwork that is not constructed as such, please enter it as a separate silent-auction item.
• Include a photo of the finished bra, a title for your bra that is descriptive, with some verbiage as to how the bra exemplifies the theme: “Superhero Survivors.”
• Any accessories included that are not physically attached to the bra should be described in the submission form
• The bra artwork and title can be humorous, but should be overall respectful in nature avoiding any inappropriate language or explicit artwork
• Bra submissions may be determined ineligible by the WBCI committee if they do not meet the above criteria.
• Be creative! You may use any bra shape or cup size, and the more elaborate bras are often more successful!
