In a good year, more than 5,000 Sandhill Cranes can be seen wintering along the Cosumnes River near Lodi—a spectacle right out of a nature documentary. Glenn Phillips, Executive Director of Golden Gate Bird Alliance, will take you and four friends to watch the cranes settle in for the evening in large numbers. You may also see Tundra Swans, Snow Geese, and many other wintering ducks and geese. 

While you wait, enjoy a tailgate party with hot beverages, local wine, and warm food. Dates in November - January to be arranged. Timing depends on sunset, but allow six hours for the whole trip. 

Includes transportation from the East Bay to Cosumnes Preserve, all equipment, food, and beverages for up to five participants.
