Cranes: Sunset Tailgate Party for Five

Est. Value: $700

$350 starting bid

Starts May 9, 8:00 AM PDT

Item description

In a good year, more than 5,000 Sandhill Cranes can be seen wintering along the Cosumnes River near Lodi—a spectacle right out of a nature documentary. But better than a documentary, you can watch in person with friends, food, and wine!

Glenn Phillips, Executive Director of Golden Gate Bird Alliance, will take you and four friends to watch the cranes settle in for the evening in large numbers. Along with the cranes, you may also see Tundra Swans, Snow Geese, and many other wintering ducks and geese.

While you wait for the avian show, enjoy a tailgate party with hot beverages, local wine, and warm food. Dates in November through January to be arranged with Glenn. Timing depends on sunset, but allow six hours for the whole trip.

Includes transportation from the East Bay to Cosumnes Preserve, all equipment, food, and beverages for up to five participants.
