Item description

Three-hour sail with bird guide for two

This private sailing trip for a couple or a couple of friends will enchant you with the views, otters and of course the birds. This sail, on a Santana 22, will start from the Monterey Harbor near Fisherman's Wharf.

Zachary Grover is a sailor, backpacker, and all around nature lover. He is a Santana 22 National Champion, and member of the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club.

You can sit back and enjoy the sailing and birding, or this could be both a bird watching opportunity and sailing lesson. Zachary would be glad to let the recipients get some time at the helm if they are comfortable.

Whitney Grover, Zachary's sister, a lifelong coastal Californian, will be your bird guide for this sailing excursion.  She has been a GGBA Field Trip leader, member of our Conservation Committee and is now our Deputy Director. She is a 2019 Master Birder graduate and in 2023 she earned a MS degree in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco, with a concentration in Ecology. Whitney is a co-founder of the SF Bay chapter of the Feminist Bird Club.

This trip will be available until 5/16/27. Please check with both Zachary and Whitney about dates soon after the auction.
