Item description
Western Meadowlarks bring joy on the wing. A walk through any Bay Area grassland can erupt into a flurry of activity when these feathered musicians alight in their flocks. Now you can bring a bit of meadowlark joy into your home or office with this special hand-crafted papier-mâché meadowlark sculpture by Nancy Overton!
The bird's dimensions are 9” long, 5.5” tall and 3” wide.
Nancy is a local artist working in torn paper collage and papier-mâché bird figures. A 1965 graduate of the California College of Arts and Crafts, she has a Fine Arts degree in Painting. Paper became Nancy’s medium of choice some twenty years ago and her subjects include birds, forest animals, cats, dogs and food. She uses colored Lokta papers and also creates some of her own colored papers with watercolor. She uses old sheet music, stamps and old recipes in both her collages and on her 3-D birds. Nancy sells her original collages and birds in galleries and online. She lives with her rescue dog, Bob, overlooking Chabot Park, where many of her subjects make their home
