Item description

Half-day guided birding for five, either by foot or bike.

Here's a chance for you and four of your friends to have a private bird tour at a Bay Area park, led by Golden Gate Bird Alliance board member Derek Heins.  Set your own pace on bike or on foot. This is a great opportunity for both novices and expert birders: the experience can be tailored to your personal birding level, preferences, and needs.

Derek will gladly introduce you to one of his favorite local birding spots such as Coyote Hills Regional Park, MLK Shoreline, Hayward Regional Shoreline, Mitchell Canyon, or Bethel Island. If you’re interested in birding by bike, Clifton Court is another good option.  But the bottom line is — if there's somewhere specific you want to go, Derek will most likely be up for it!

Derek Heins reignited a childhood interest in birds by going on a GGBA outing to Grizzly Island in 1989, and since then his birding enthusiasm has only increased. He is one of the top eBird contributors in Alameda and Contra Costa counties, teaches birding classes, serves as Treasurer of the GGBA board of directors, and is currently in the midst of a Big Year by bike. And he's fun!

The fair market value for this item is estimated at $400.
