9:00 AM – Tailgate Opens (Rough Riders Trail)
10:45 AM – Registration Opens (Inside the Home Plate Gate at the corner of Diamond Drive and Rough Riders Trail)
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Activities & DJ Cone (Concourse)
1:00 PM – Live Performance by Shelby Ballenger (Home Plate)
1:30 PM – Opening Ceremony (Home Plate)
Take a seat in the stands and enjoy performances by Notre Dame School of Dallas cheerleaders, team awards, recognition of Self-Advocate Honorary Chair, and more.
2:00 PM – Awareness Walk (Section 116)
3:00 PM – Event Closes

How It Works

New Here? You’re in Great Company!

Many members of our community have been attending the Buddy Walk for years—but each year, we also get the joy of welcoming first-timers! Whether you're a seasoned pro or joining us for the first time, here’s a quick guide to how registration works.

  1. I want to start a team!
    As a Team Captain, you’ll lead the way by creating a personalized fundraising page, inviting others to join your team, and collecting donations from family, friends, coworkers, and your community. It’s a fun and meaningful way to make a difference—and celebrate someone you love with Down syndrome!

  2. I Want to Join a Team

    As a team member, you’ll be part of the celebration and participate in the event alongside your team! You’ll also create your own personal fundraising page (optional) to collect donations from family, friends, and coworkers—helping support individuals with Down syndrome in your community.

All attendees must either create or join a fundraising team. These teams work together before the walk to raise awareness and funds for the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas. On October 19, teams will come together at Riders Field to celebrate with a day full of fun, connection, and community! Enjoy bounce houses, face painting, delicious food, and more. Teams also have the option to set up a tailgate in our designated lot—bring your spirit and join the celebration!

T-Shirt Pickup Update

We are very sorry to share that, due to a production delay, Buddy Walk® t-shirts will not be ready for pickup by Saturday, October 11 as originally planned.

T-Shirt Pickup Hours:

  • Monday, October 13: CLOSED

  • Tuesday, October 14: 9 AM – 7 PM

  • Wednesday, October 15: 10 AM – 7 PM

  • Thursday, October 16: 10 AM – 7 PM
