COVID-19 left AZRD without a practice facility and off skates for two years. As the league worked to rebuild and returned to skating, they played Short Track - a smaller version of roller derby, and hosted the first ever Short Track tournament at Alwun House with the theme “Derby’s Not Dead”. AZRD returned in 2023 with two homes teams, the Bad News Beaters and Skate Riot Project.
