Counter culture is core to the origins of the roller derby community. Roller derby events often include punk rock shows and themes. Jello Biafra himself was at this fundraiser for AZRD In 2003. The iconic logo for Arizona Roller Derby is illustrates these punk rock origins, a skating version of the DRI logo, created and used with permission.
