Farewell Metro Center, 2020, Metro Center Mall, Phoenix, AZ.

The Metro Center Mall, an iconic Phoenix location, was closed on June 30, 2020 following years of decline and drops in occupancy, the final straw was COVID-19. Pandemic blues and being barred from playing roller derby motivated a group of skaters to take to the empty halls of Metro Center. Skaters glided on the shiny tile floors, lept around chairs and obstacles, and briefly enjoyed a break for this photo before being dispersed by mall security.
