While roller derby games can be competitive and aggressive, they are also filled with camaraderie and shenanigans. Here a blocker from the Surlies (in red) playfully puts a hand out to grab the Midnight Storm pivot (purple) who is jumping away. Grabbing with hands in this manner is not a legal form of game play, but often skaters engage in playful contact mid-game.
