What is Irreverent Warriors?

We are an international, US based 501c3 non-profit organization whos mission is to "Bring veterans together, using humor and camaraderie, to IMPROVE mental health and PREVENT veteran Suicide."

How do you prevent veteran suicide?

Through support and care: Irreverent Warriors knows that the best support network for veterans, is other veterans. We bring a community of warriors together through therapeutic events across the country. We also work with other veteran organizations who provide services such as job placement, training, housing, service dogs and more.

Through Connections and Bonds: The connections and bonds made at our events allow veterans to create their own support network solving the most crucial issue contributing to veteran suicide; isolation.

With Laughter and Experience: We have experienced pain, tragedy, and trauma – whether overseas or at home – and many of us have used humor as a coping mechanism. Finding humor in difficult situations sheds some light on the darkness and helps us maintain a positive mental attitude and continue our mission.

What is a Virtual 5K?

You choose the location and date — We suggest veterans day weekend 2024— and decide if you want to organize your 5K as a solo run or neighborhood stroll with friends, or go all-out with an epic, community-wide fundraiser.

Can civilians and kids participate?

Absolutely! This event is open to everyone of all ages. To encourage involvement of the whole family we've included an option for discounted registration for kids.

Do I have to do the 5k over Veterans Day weekend?

No, you can do the 5k whenever you’d like. Fundraising can take place until November 17th to receive incentives.

Are there any discounts or promo codes?

Active military/veterans receive $5 off with promo code IW2024.

Do I need to time myself/my team?

Due to the range of activity types and athletic abilities, this event is not timed and you are not required to input your time on the site.

What do I get with my registration for the Virtual 5K?

All registered adults will receive an official IW Virtual 5k participant kit complete with an event T-shirt, drawstring bag, medal, and more. Registered children will receive a participant kit that includes a bib and medal.

When should I expect my IW Virtual 5k participant kit?

We will mail you an official IW Virtual 5k participant kit. Fundraising incentives will be sent separately within one month of hitting your fundraising goal.

Do I have to raise money or can I just race?

Fundraising is not required, but we've added some pretty cool incentives for you to do so. Check out the INCENTIVES tab for more information on those.

When do I hold my virtual event?

All virtual events and fundraising must take place by November 17th for you to qualify for your fundraising incentives.

Where can I do my Virtual 5k event?

The sky’s the limit! Complete your 5K on your own time and wherever you’d like, whether it’s on a treadmill, running track, park, or city streets — you pick!
