Being rooting in community provides a variety of benefits to both the group and each individual. Shared experience can create meaningful connection.  Having a group to call on or even just spend time belonging with, means the individual has access to a network of interdependent people. Being able to call on community in times of need and in turn offer what one can to the group creates a sense of support and security. Sharing both tough times and celebrations collectively allows an individual to view those peaks and valleys as a normal part of the ebb and flow of life. It puts the individual experience into perspective and allows a vision of the bigger picture. True community provides resilience for the individual and the group. That resilience is a kind of armor the individual can wear as they make their way through the world each day. This piece is a celebration of the power of community.
