Vermont Center for Ecostudies 2026 Birdathon

Step 1: Click “Participate” to create your fundraising page. You can sign up as an individual birder, join an existing team, or create a new team and invite your fellow birders to join you.

Step 2: Customize your fundraising page and share it with friends and family to ask for their support in reaching your goal. We'll provide a message template you can use.

Step 3: Choose when and where you’ll bird. You can bird for as long as you would like during any 24-hour period in May. Some participants choose to bird for a couple hours in their backyard or favorite park, while others get out at dawn and hit several hotspots throughout the day. It’s up to you! Teams are limited to five participants and must bird together.

Step 4: Use your fundraising page to post updates before, during, and after your Birdathon day.  Don't forget to post a photo of yourself or your team to be considered for the Best Birdathon Photo Award!

Step 5: Post your species count and see donations that support our unique approach to people-powered biodiversity research roll right in!
