Why Your Support Matters
The Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk is more than just a walk. It is the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida’s largest fundraiser and provides critical funding that allows DSACF to offer life-changing programs, resources, and support to more than 1,200 families throughout the year. Here is how your participation makes a difference.
Early Childhood Programs
Programs like Baby Basics and Musical Munchkins support early development by strengthening communication, motor skills, and social interaction during the most important early years.
New Family Support
Through New Parent Baskets, hospital outreach, and family celebrations, DSACF welcomes families after a diagnosis and connects them with a caring community from the very beginning.
Youth Enrichment Programs
Programs such as Karate Kids, Buddy Up Tennis, Artful Abilities, and other recreational activities help children build confidence, friendships, and independence.
Teen Development Programs
Programs like UpBeat Jr., social gatherings, and life skills activities help teens develop communication skills, independence, and confidence as they prepare for adulthood.
Adult Life Skills and Social Programs
Programs such as Empowering Independence, UpBeat, fitness classes, and social events provide opportunities for adult self-advocates to build skills, stay active, and connect with peers.
Family & Community Events
Throughout the year, DSACF hosts family events, workshops, and community gatherings that create meaningful connections and provide ongoing support for families.
Every step you take and every dollar you raise helps ensure these programs remain accessible to families across Central Florida. Join us at the Step Up Walk and help change what’s possible for people with Down syndrome.
