Brett Emerick's First State Half Marathon Fundraiser

Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you haven't already met me or know me please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Brett Emerick and I am currently the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the DSA of Delaware.  This year on March 22nd I will be taking part in the First State Half Marathon. While this will be my fourth year running the event, new this year to me, I will be pushing my "coach" (daughter) Faith to raise funds for 3 non-profits that are important to us.  I started my running/fitness journey a few years ago and soon found that my little one loved to be in the running stroller telling me to go faster and hurry up because she was hungry! She has since outgrown her running stroller and doesn't get the chance to go with me as much but with the help of Move to Include and the Friends of Fusion Foundation we are able to make that happen.  This year since the race falls the day after World Down Syndrome Day and I need a little extra motivation, I will be pushing Faith for the entire 13.1 miles and I am sure I will be hearing "I'm hungry, go faster" the whole time.  We will be running to raise funds for all 3 organizations- Down Syndrome Association of Delaware, Move 2 IncluDE, and Friends of Fusion Foundation.  I am setting a goal of 12,500.00 to be distributed amongst the 3 organizations.  These 3 non-profit organizations do amazing things for our community and I'd like to be able to give back to them and help them to continue their outreach in our area.  Thank you for your time and donations, if you are able, come out to Newark the morning of 03/22 and cheer us on, you won't be disappointed.
