From the NICU to the Finish Line: Ira's Journey of Hope
Why I Run: Ira's Story
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Oregon & SW Washington is an organization that is incredibly close to our hearts. They provide a home away from home and a community of support for families with seriously ill or injured children, and we know firsthand how vital that support is.
Our RMHC Journey
The RMHC Heartfelt House was our lifeline when Ira Finnley (The Earth Warrior) was born with health complications. They provided a "home away from home" so we could be by Ira's side during their two-week stay in the NICU.
We run to give back to the organization that gave us a home when we needed it most, to honor our journey, and to help other families get the same compassionate support we did.
Finding a Passion
Ira is now four years old, and this event has done more than just raise money. It has ignited a love for running (and fitness) that they'll be celebrating with their fifth race in 2026!
After trying out various activities like soccer, ballet, and swimming, it's running and rock climbing that have truly captured Ira's young heart. This event has become a way for Ira to embrace their spunk and strength, turning a difficult beginning into a powerful passion.
Every mile we run is a celebration of Ira's health and a promise to help other families facing similar challenges.
