Sports have provided women with a platform to showcase their physical abilities and challenge traditional gender roles. By recognizing these achievements and contributions of women in sports, we honor the legacy and inspire future generations to pursue their passions and break down barriers.

My favorite sports moment was my first competition on the national stage as a senior elite, the 2021 US Winter Cup, was the most impactful and memorable sports moment of my career. This competition was a huge moment for me as it represented a comeback from injury and challenges I had faced the previous year. To find love for the sport and really just enjoy the competition, no matter what the outcome, reignited the pride and motivation I had for the sport, giving me the drive and determination to keep improving and growing.

I would consider so many people in my life to be role models, and it would be incredibly difficult to narrow down to one impactful person that I look up to the most. However, it has always been meaningful to me to try to be the person younger me would want to look up to. Everyday, every situation, I am striving to make the little girl inside of me proud of who she has become. All in all, I think that the younger Lilly who fell in love with gymnastics has been serving as a reminder for me to work hard and find joy in my sport.

My advice for the younger generation of women is to know that you are strong, and you are capable of so many good things. You have a bright future ahead of you, and no matter what journey you embark on, if you believe in yourself and find joy in the activities or sports you are doing, you will be successful beyond what you could ever imagine. Remember that you can always be a leader, an example to others, and an inspiration through hard work and confidence in yourself!
