My mission is to be a catalyst for the next unlikely star in golf.

This year, I want to highlight an unlikely champion Calvin Peete who received an incredible opportunity through golf.

As the youngest of nine children, Calvin Peete's journey began in Detroit, Michigan, confronting early challenges that shaped him. After living with his grandmother due to family struggles, he moved to Pahokee, Florida, at age 11, where he dropped out of school in the eighth grade to support his family. It was in his twenties, while selling goods to migrant workers in Rochester, New York, that he discovered golf. An invitation led him to a course, igniting a passion that would transform his life. With unwavering dedication, he committed to intensive study and practice to elevate his game. Peete turned professional in 1971, overcoming obstacles to qualify for the PGA Tour on his third attempt, proving that perseverance and hard work can lead to greatness. We are excited for our 8th annual 100 Hole Challenge! The 100 Hole Challenge is an event where our entire FTP Family comes together to raise money to support on-course programming, coach training, and keep our program accessible so that finances are never a barrier. Youth members, families, board members, volunteers, and community partners will all work together to play 100 putting holes, helping to reach our goal of $100,000!
