My Mission for Rare Disease Research
Why I’m headed to the UPenn MDBR for Love Never Sinks
In 2008, my son Reid was diagnosed with Lesch-Nyhan, a rare disease that changed our lives in ways we never expected. His diagnosis led to a deeper discovery—two of his cousins and his grandfather were also affected, along with five family members identified as carriers. This journey has shaped my commitment to ensuring no family faces this alone.
I’m participating in the Million Dollar Bike Ride to raise funds for Love Never Sinks, a foundation dedicated to supporting families and advancing research readiness. Progress in rare disease research starts with strong community efforts, and every dollar raised helps move us closer to meaningful breakthroughs.
Join me in making a difference—whether by donating, spreading awareness, or simply cheering us on. Together, we can push research forward and bring hope to families like mine.
