Participating in 50 Years of Stone House

My Mission

As a Board member, I'm proud to support Stone House in its 50th year of operation as it cares for and protects domestic violence survivors. Look, I don’t do bike rides, runs or any other wide fundraising activity during the year. Please support me and Stone House families by giving through my page. Every dollar counts!

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN MASSACHUSETTS - 34% of Massachusetts women and 32% of Massachusetts men experience intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner sexual violence and/or intimate partner stalking in their lifetimes. In 2018, domestic violence accounted for 20% of all violent crime.

Last year Stone House:

814 adult and child domestic violence survivors directly supported through our array of services.

115 individuals found respite and safety from immediate danger through emergency shelter or hotel-based stays.

42 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers received trauma-informed care at our Early Learning Center.

313 months of rental assistance provided to clients to support safe, stable housing.

126 adults received financial coaching services to improve financial stability.

135 people received crisis intervention supports like safety planning, taxi vouchers, or other means necessary to escape violence.

Stone House helps survivors of domestic violence through an array of residential and non-residential services. When we opened in 1974 as the Elizabeth Stone House, we were an alternative to institutionalization for women with mental health issues. Today we are a robust, inclusive home and community space for adult and child survivors of domestic violence.

As our clients' needs evolve, so does Stone House. In the past five years, we have constructed and moved into a brand new multi-use facility in Roxbury, opened a full-time, trauma-informed daycare for children under 5, and nearly doubled our capacity to serve housing stability clients.
