Kira has been a part of the York Area Down Syndrome Association (YADSA) for over 20 years, and the impact this 100% volunteer-run organization has had on her life is immeasurable. From the time she was very young, YADSA has been a source of support, connection, and opportunity, not just for Kira, but for our entire family.

Through the years, YADSA has provided more than just resources; they’ve created a community. They’ve offered events where Kira and our family feel included, celebrated, and supported. They've helped us navigate school systems, shared guidance on services and transitions, and most importantly, they’ve built a space where lifelong friendships have formed.

Because of YADSA’s dedication, Kira has grown up knowing she belongs, and that she is part of something bigger than herself. The fact that every aspect of this organization is powered by volunteers makes their impact even more meaningful. Their time, energy, and passion come from the heart and it shows.

We are thankful for YADSA and everything they’ve done and continue to do. They are not just a support system, they are family.
