MARC GILMORE

My journey working with young people began in 1983, when Marquette Golf Club hired me as Head Golf Professional. The mission of First Tee Northern Michigan – Serving Marquette County is very important to me, and I’m proud to help make a difference by teaching young people both golf skills and life skills.

Our youth programs have grown stronger each year, and with the addition of our First Tee chapter, the future is bright for these young golfers. Please help me sustain the valuable impact First Tee brings to our community.

Please support these kids by donating to my page. Every dollar counts!

With Gratitude, Marc

Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of introducing countless young people to the game of golf and watching them grow into amazing young adults who make our community stronger.

One of those young golfers is Noah Peterson. I first met Noah and his sister Deni many years ago, when their grandfather, Gordon Peterson, introduced them to the game of golf.

Noah has grown into a remarkable young man and has embodied several of First Tee’s Five Key Commitments along the way. He is a great teammate, working well with his fellow employees and making our guests feel special and welcome at Marquette Golf Club.

Noah worked hard and pursued his goal of becoming one of the club’s top players. In 2022, that hard work paid off with a trip to the Final Four of the club tournament.

In 2025, Noah faced a new test when a serious snowboarding injury kept him from playing the game of golf he loves. He had to grow through challenge as he worked through his recovery.

After a great deal of hard work, Noah returned to work and to playing the game his grandfather taught him. Noah has worked at Marquette Golf Club since 2019, and it is my honor to have him join me as my youth spotlight partner for the 2026 Polar Golf Marathon. Noah and I will share the Polar duties on October 24.

It means a great deal to both of us to team up in support of area youth, especially after everything Noah has worked so hard to overcome.

Please support our area youth by donating to our page. Every dollar counts!

With gratitude,

Marc Gilmore
