But this isn’t just any rubber duck floating around the Queen City—this duck carries a life-saving message.

At 36, I was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma, a type of kidney cancer that often goes unnoticed until it's too late. I had no symptoms, no warning signs—just a feeling that something wasn’t right. Thanks to early detection, I am now one year cancer-free, but my journey doesn’t stop here.

This March, during Kidney Cancer Awareness Month, my team and I are launching Duck Dash CLT: The 81K Challenge—a mission to place orange rubber ducks across Charlotte, each with a QR code linking to life-saving information about kidney cancer and renal disease. Our goal? To educate, raise awareness, and spark conversations that could save lives.
