Tessa Fox

I grew up playing sports and I am a big advocate of what it can teach kids - confidence, teamwork, discipline, time management and so much more. As we get older it is easy for women to lose the comradery and support that sports provided. It was something I was searching for professionally and was looking for ways in which to advance my career. This is when I turned to golf. I was seeing the connections that were being made on the golf course during industry tournaments by male colleagues. Shortly after this The Pro Shop began which was started by five fabulous women in the architecture, engineering and construction industry to say yes to golf in order to empower them in the industry. Now I have the support system, cheering squad, golf partners, friendship and so much more than I could have ever imagined.

Through the Pro Shop I learned about First Tee and have had the chance to meet several of their teen members and I am so impressed with the young ladies. They are ahead of the game of life and golf will open so many opportunities for them personally and professionally. This vital game teaches life skills they can use in all aspects of their lives. Golf should be accessible to everyone regardless of gender, where you are born, and the resources available to your family.
