My Story - Graham Eilberg and why your pledge matters
Thank you for sponsoring The Hill School Basketball Vs. Cancer Shootathon! On January 4th, the team will shoot 100 free throws to benefit Vs. Cancer and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. They are a non-profit organization that helps raise money and awareness for kids fighting brain cancer. I am involved in this crucial event because in September of this year, I had a seizure while asleep in my dorm room. Unsure of its cause, my parents and I went to St Luke's Hospital for scans to determine what the issue was. After initially thinking it was a brain bleed or bruise, we discovered it to be a tumor in my left frontal lobe. The relief and gratitude I felt when I was told it was operable and could be removed by Dr. Hugh Moulding and his staff after two craniotomies were indescribable. Thanks to a clear pathology report on the tumor, I can walk, run, speak, and live as I did before. I hope anyone who reads this is inspired to donate to support people on a brain cancer journey and those who cannot support themselves during times of need. Thank you! - Graham
