Lace Up for Addy - Prior Lake SQB2's Hockey Fights Cancer Game

About Our Hockey Fights Cancer Game

Monday Dec, 22 | 5PM | Dakotah Rink 2

This year's Hockey Fights Cancer Game holds deep personal meaning for our local sports community. We're honored to support Addy's Army, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the memory of Adalyn Shepard, a young softball player whose family has been woven into the fabric of our community for years.

When Adalyn passed away in 2024 from acute myeloid leukemia (AML) at just ten years old, only days after her diagnosis, our entire community felt the loss profoundly. The Shepard family has been a constant presence - whether at the rink, on the softball diamond, or throughout our neighborhoods. This game brings our local sports families together to stand with a family who has stood with us.

Through this game, we unite as a community to support Addy's Army's mission:

Creating Joy Through Experiences: Just as sports created lasting memories for Adalyn - from her time on the softball field to cheering at the rink - Addy's Army ensures other children facing challenges have access to meaningful experiences through youth organizations, scholarships, and individual grants.

Standing with Families: Our community rallied around the Shepards during their darkest days. Now, Addy's Army provides that same essential support to other families facing health crises or navigating grief - paying forward the kindness that makes our community strong.

Fighting for a Cure: With leukemia being the most common childhood cancer, Addy's Army funds critical research for more effective treatments, giving hope to families facing similar diagnoses.

Every moment of this game, every cheer from the stands, and every dollar raised demonstrates what our community truly values - showing up for each other, whether on the ice, the field, or in life. The Shepard family has been there for us through the years, and now we have the privilege to honor Adalyn's memory while making a tangible difference for others.

Join us as athletes, families, and neighbors come together to prove that in our community, no family fights alone.
