MASON SCHROEDER 🧡 MN HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER

The Sartell Squirt A Team is proud to participate in the 2025–2026 Minnesota Hockey Fights Cancer campaign.

This season, we’re skating for one of our own — Mason Schroeder. Mason is a 6 year old member of the Sartell Youth Hockey Association and has shown incredible courage throughout his battle with Stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma. He bravely completed 42 rounds of chemotherapy, six weeks of radiation, and enjoyed 10 months of remission before his cancer returned this fall. Mason has already undergone multiple procedures as his fight continues.

We are rallying around Mason and his family, and we invite our community to join us.

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.

Now it’s our turn to rally.

Let’s show Mason that him, his family and others on cancer journeys are not battling in the corners alone.

To prove that this community knows how to show up, lace up, and fight back.

Thank you for supporting Mason and helping us fight cancer together. 💜🏒

Here is Mason’s story:

In February 2024, Mason was diagnosed with stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma. Because of the tumor’s size and location, surgery wasn’t an option, so he bravely endured 42 rounds of chemotherapy at Children’s Minnesota and six weeks of radiation at the Mayo Clinic.

After 10 months in remission, Mason’s cancer returned in the same spot in late 2025. To ensure it hadn’t spread, he underwent multiple procedures, including a PET scan, removal of tonsils and lymph nodes, a lumbar puncture, and reinsertion of his port. Thankfully, all results came back negative. Doctors believe a few resilient cells may have survived the first treatment, causing this recurrence.

Mason is now facing six more rounds of chemotherapy. After a follow-up scan, if the tumor has shrunk, he will undergo surgery to remove it, followed by another 36 rounds of chemo and radiation.

Mason has shown incredible courage, and we are asking for your support to help him through this challenging journey. Every donation, share, and message of encouragement makes a difference. Let’s rally around Mason and give him the fight he deserves! 🧡
