Join us for the Monster Dash 5K for a spooktacular night of community and inclusion benefiting Special Olympics Kansas! The evening will kick off from 7:00–8:45 PM with a festive pre-race celebration featuring local downtown businesses and vendors, food trucks, live music, Halloween-themed activities, and opportunities to connect with Special Olympics Kansas athletes and community partners. At 9:00 PM, runners and walkers of all ages and abilities will take off for the Monster Dash 5K, with costumes highly encouraged! Following the race, participants and spectators can continue celebrating with music, food, vendors, and a special post-race celebration before the event wraps up by 11:00 PM. Whether you come to run, walk, enjoy the live entertainment, support local businesses, grab some food, or simply cheer on our athletes, the Monster Dash 5K will be a fun-filled Halloween night for the entire community!
Event Details
The Monster Dash 5K will take place at Manhattan City Park, utilizing the green grass area just north of the baseball field for the event area. The Start/Finish will be located at the corner of Fremont Street and North Park Road, near North 14th Street. Participants will begin the race from this location and follow the designated course through City Park. The 5K course will consist of three laps around the park, allowing runners and walkers to enjoy the park while completing the full 5K distance. The route will remain within the City Park area and return participants to the designated Start/Finish location at the completion of their three laps. The event area will include the pre-race party, participant activities, vendors, and other event amenities on the green space north of the baseball field.
