Since its creation in 1995, the Buddy Walk® has grown into the nation’s leading awareness and advocacy event for the Down syndrome community. What began as a single walk has become a worldwide movement, recognized as a symbol of inclusion and celebration. Each year, Buddy Walks across the country bring together thousands of families, friends, and supporters from diverse backgrounds.

In our region, the Buddy Walk® fuels the mission of New Directions Down Syndrome Association. It’s more than just a walk—it’s a day filled with joy, connection, and purpose. Funds raised support vital programs, resources, and advocacy efforts that empower individuals with Down syndrome to thrive and help families, caregivers, educators, and professionals build inclusive communities where everyone belongs.
