Why I Bird For Point Blue

I'm excited to be participating in Point Blue's 2025 Rich Stallcup Bird-A-Thon! Now in its 47th year, this event is a great opportunity to support the vital conservation work Point Blue is involved with. I have been so pleased to get to work with two Point Blue projects in Marin County that support my favorite bird, the snowy plover. The Lookers will be searching west Marin County for a wide variety of other songbirds and waterbirds to help support the Palomarin Field Station, which trains young biologists in bird monitoring and conservation.

Thank you for your generous support and help in spreading the word. To learn more about Point Blue Conservation Science and their climate-smart conservation initiatives, visit their website at www.pointblue.org.

You can make a pledge per bird species or a one-time donation on my individual fundraising page. You can donate online by clicking "donate" above, or mail a check made out to Point Blue Conservation Science to ATTN: Rich Stallcup Bird-A-Thon, Point Blue Conservation Science, 3820 Cypress Dr STE 11, Petaluma, CA 94954 (please include my name in the memo line).

Hello wonderful people,

I want to thank you for generously helping support the Palomarin Field Station, through your kind donations to the Lookers Birdathon team! We had a great day birding throughout various Point Reyes and Bolinas vicinities. You can see our results by going to https://ebird.org/tripreport/414300?view=checklists

You might be interested to know our highest single locations for #s of different species were Agate Beach (with 40 species), Five Brooks Pond (with 38) and collectively, a few stops along Bolinas Lagoon. We also saw many birds by simply walking the neighborhoods of Bolinas!

Thanks again for supporting me in this effort!
